Large Fleet of Icebergs Impacting North Atlantic Shipping Lanes

Over 450 icebergs have drifted down into the North Atlantic shipping lanes, 363 of which have arrived over the past 7 days. This is forcing vessels to either dramatically lower their speed to navigate the icebergs, or take detours which can add up to 400 miles to the trip.

US Coast Guard Upgrades Port Conditions due to Hurricane Hermine

The Florida Gulf Coast is preparing for the arrival of hurricane Hermine. Hermine has just been updated from a tropical storm to a Category 1 hurricane.  Hermine is expected to make landfall sometime late Thursday night to early Friday morning.

On Monday, Florida's Governor, Rick Scott, declared a state of emergency in numerous counties as Tropical Storm Colin reached the state with 50-mile-per-hour winds and torrential rainfall along the northern Gulf Coast. Colin is expected to impact nearly the entire state. Communities can expect heavy rain, high winds, rip tides, lightening, and even tornado and hail damage.
