Improving Performance at Waterborne Terminals
Houston, TX –February 4, 2014 -- PortVision®, a leading provider of business intelligence solutions for the maritime industry, today announced that it will continue its complimentary educational luncheon series into 2014 for marine terminal management. The first event of the year will take place on Wednesday, March 19th, from 11 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. at the Ortiz International Center, Corpus Christi, TX.
“We are looking forward to meeting with marine terminal managers in the Corpus Christi area who are responsible for operations, management or performance improvement,” said Dean Rosenberg, PortVision chief executive officer. “We’ve designed this event to deliver valuable information that attendees can immediately use to increase the performance and efficiency of their marine terminal facilities.”
PortVision’s educational series provides attendees with an opportunity to hear about industry trends and challenges, and how to meet these challenges while streamlining operations, reducing costs, increasing visibility and enhancing business intelligence. Each luncheon includes roundtable discussions about key terminal management developments, and demonstrations of PortVision’s TerminalSmart™ enterprise platform, including its dock management module that enables complete management of waterborne terminal docks. Attendees also learn how to use both real-time and historical vessel movement data to improve incident response, avoid commercial disputes, reduce demurrage expense, and improve decision-making using vessel-related business intelligence.

During February 2013, the company launched its PortVision CONNECT initiative to help non-profit maritime organizations enhance port and waterway efficiency, safety and security for their stakeholders. In October 2013, the company awarded its first grant in the initiative, and is now working with the West Gulf Maritime Association (WGMA) to deploy a free web-based solution for creating, sharing and managing terminal gate security clearance lists, initially along the Sabine-Neches waterway which extends from the Gulf of Mexico to Port Arthur, Beaumont and Orange, Texas.
